PERTAMINA PREMA Theodore Racing ended the weekend with a very positive sixth place from Sean Gelael in race 2 of the FIA Formula 2 Championship at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The 21-year-old Indonesian capped the third round of the season with a stunning recovery performance from P15 after being hit by another driver in race 1. Unfortunately, Nyck De Vries had a tougher day in the office as he went off-track early while trying to attack from P7 on the grid. After scoring second place yesterday, he is still standing fourth in points, while PERTAMINA PREMA Theodore Racing is also P4 in the team competition.

Race 2: P6                         Fastest Lap: 1:31.865

“Never say die! That was the mood of the weekend. After being in frame for eighth place and getting taken out yesterday, we showed our pace today. I really like this kind of conditions so I pushed hard in the first three laps, used a bit of tires and tried to maintain the temperatures. I tried to push for fifth but I think it was a bit out of reach. I would take sixth place out of a P15 start every day though. I’m happy and hopefully we can keep the pace for Monaco.”

Race 2 :  DNF                    Fastest Lap: –

“It was a very short race for me. We got a good start on a track that was still damp. I was really confident because I felt we had the grip and pace so I immediately attacked. I was too eager though so I tried to overtake Markelov in turn 4, but it was obviously still damp inside. I went off and that was pretty much it.”
