We caught up with SJM Theodore Racing contender and Ferrari Academy Driver Guanyu Zhou, ahead of the 64th Macau Grand Prix which kicks off in a weeks time!
Macau is an iconic yet challenging street race, what are you looking forward to the most about racing there?
For me this event is one of the most exciting races of the year and of course when it’s so close to my hometown Shanghai, it is even better.
What is so special about Macau?
It’s one of the most difficult race circuit’s in the world which challenges a lot the drivers, in the city section there are lots of corners which are blank on the exit so you have to keep a high level of concentration. It’s really fun to drive and the atmosphere there is huge.
Do you consider Macau as your home Grand Prix?
Kind of, it’s the closest race of the year to my hometown.
What are your expectations? Do you hope for a win?
Obviously to arrive on podium would be a great achievement and of course I want to win! It will be a challenging race but I will try my best to finish in the best position possible.
