PREMA Theodore Racing secured two additional podium finishes at the Hungaroring. Today, the team lined-up for race 2 and 3 of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship weekend at the Hungarian venue. In race 2, held on Sunday morning, Marcus Armstrong delivered an outstanding start to take P2 during the opening lap. Then, he sailed to cross the line in the same position. Unfortunately, after such a positive result, he was put out of contention in race 3 by a first-lap contact.
Mick Schumacher put up a superb performance in the final race of the weekend by moving from P9 at the start to P3 in the opening lap. The talented German later eased to his second podium finish in the series. He had already secured valuable points with a seventh place in race 2.
Chinese racer Guanyu Zhou stayed consistent and posted a fourth and a fifth place respectively, cementing his status as a championship contender. The Ferrari Driver Academy Graduate is currently second in overall points.
While Ralf Aron delivered an outstanding comeback to P7 in race 3, starting from the seventh row on the grid, Robert Shwartzman rounded out the top-5 in race 2 before being forced to retire in race 3 due to some early attrition.

Starting Grid Race 3: P5 Race 3: P5
“In the end, we scored decent points in both race 2 and 3 but I’m not happy with the starts. I had some clutch issues which we need to fix. On the positive side, the pace is there and this was my highest scoring weekend in Formula 3.”
Mick Schumacher #4
Starting Grid Race 2: P11 Race 2: P7
Starting Grid Race 3: P9 Race 3: P3
“My start was a medium good start, but immediately afterwards I could make up a few positions. Thus, I was able to work my way up to the podium. After that, I tried to spare my tyres and not make any mistakes. Enaam and Daniel were really fast and I am very happy about the third place.”
Ralf Aron #7
Starting Grid Race 2: P15 Race 2: P12
Starting Grid Race 3: P15 Race 3: P7
“We did improve in terms of position but we never really improved the pace. I think I did two good races and made the most out of the situation, but we really need to learn from this weekend. We will now fly back to the team’s headquarters and start working for the next round.”
Marcus Armstrong #8
Starting Grid Race 2: P4 Race 2: P2
Starting Grid Race 3: P3 Race 3: DNF
“My start in race 2 was good and I was right behind Enaam at the beginning. I was a bit surprised myself that I was so fast at this stage, but as soon as I got close it was impossible to get close enough to overtake. For the same reason, I wasn’t too worried about the car I had behind, so I just cruised to second place.”
Robert Shwartzman #10
Starting Grid Race 2: P7 Race 2: P5
Starting Grid Race 3: P6 Race 3: DNF
“In race 2 the pace was good and I managed to improve my position which handed me some valuable points. There is still room for further progress though. Race 3 ended just a couple of corners after the start due to a contact, so now I look forward to using our potential in the next round at Norisring.”
