Red Bull Ring, here we come again. For the 6th round of the 2018 FIA Formula 2 Championship, PERTAMINA PREMA Theodore Racing will be lining-up among the Styrian hills of Austria, on a track that the team already visited this season with their Formula 4 and Formula 3 operations. Coming back on-track after catching an elusive first win of 2018 at Circuit Paul Ricard, Dutchman Nyck De Vries will try to inch even closer to the championship lead in Spielberg, having trimmed his gap and moved up to third place in points on French soil.
Red Bull Ring will host the second out of three consecutive racing weekends for the series and the team is determined to keep the momentum, fulfilling the potential available. Sean Gelael delivered an impressive performance this season, although he didn’t always have the best luck. Back in France, the Indonesian could have been a podium contender and is definitely looking forward to keeping up the pace.
The 4.3-kilometer up-and-down venue will mark the halfway point of the 2018 season, and after some rough rides in the first half of the year, PERTAMINA PREMA Theodore Racing is eager to capitalize on the huge amount of work completed during the opening stint of the season.
René Rosin – Team Principal
“Taking our first win of the season was definitely a relief, but we were confident in our potential and we knew by the numbers that our cars were as competitive as they were last year and in 2016. We hope to carry the momentum to Red Bull Ring and score more positive results. Nyck and Sean have been very unlucky so far but their skills are out of question. I can’t wait to see them on-track at Red Bull Ring.”
