One of the most exciting challenges of the year is set to reach its final showdown this weekend at Mugello for PREMA Theodore Racing. The 2018 Italian Formula 4 Championship is set to provide a spectacular finale to an equally competitive season at the Tuscan venue, and the Vicenza-based squad is ready to fight for both the driver and team championships.
While lining up for the three races at Mugello with a comfortable lead in the team championship, PREMA Theodore Racing also has two of its racers in the hunt for the driver title. Brazilian Enzo Fittipaldi is currently second overall in standings, just nine points off the lead, while British racer Olli Caldwell stands not too far away in third place, coming from a stunning triple win in the previous round at Vallelunga. As a further variable, the fact that all drivers will be able to drop their worst five race results of the year.
Back to the driver roster, Gianluca Petecof is also coming from a really positive run in Vallelunga. Despite being forced to miss the round at Monza, the young Brazilian has been impressive at his first season in single seaters and can become a real overall contender. On the other hand, Amna Al Qubaisi has been improving her pace and results over the season. The Emirati female racer is determined to keep increasing her momentum to provide a positive ending to her learning year.
Angelo Rosin – Team Principal
“The 2018 one has been an amazing season for this series so far, and competition is so high and unpredictable that there is no clear favorite heading into the final round at Mugello. We will line up with the same determination of day one and with our usual hard-working attitude in order to get the job done. While Enzo and Olli will have a clear shot at the title, we can’t forget the great steps made by Gianluca and Amna. They are growing stronger race by race. They have great prospects for the finale.”
