It’s go-time again for PREMA Theodore Racing. With the FIA Formula 3 European Championship now entering the crucial part of the season, the Italian squad will line up at the Nürburgring for the 8th round of the year, heading back to Germany after the trips to Spa-Francorchamps, Silverstone, and Misano. Perched among the Eifel forest, the modern Nürburgring sits alongside the feared Nordschleife “green hell” and has flowing corners that definitely put drivers to test, especially for its particular environment which usually provides cold temperatures and variable weather.

The increasingly tight championship situation will make for a great show too. Rookie Marcus Armstrong is still the leading driver for the team in third place, but the 18-year-old New Zealander is now closely followed by three team-mates: German Mick Schumacher, coming from three wins in the last three rounds, Estonian Ralf Aron, who prevailed in race 3 at Misano, and Chinese racer Guanyu Zhou, who hopes to be back to the podium after facing adverse fortunes lately.

Coming from an overall podium finish at Misano, Russian Robert Shwartzman, who like Armstrong and Zhou is a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, has plenty of potential to show too, and will also be a valuable asset on-track.

René Rosin – Team Principal
“It’s time to get back in action in this busy final part of Summer. The previous round in Misano has been pretty challenging in terms of the weather and we scored two wins, so we got some good training for what can be expected at Nürburgring! All joking aside, we are entering the most crucial part of the season and as we are in contention with so many cars, staying focused and avoiding any mistake will be the key, even more than usual. I hope to see our drivers make a step up as a team. In 2017, we struggled a bit at Nürburgring so we are eager to put our name back at the front end of the charts.”
