The SJM Theodore Racing Team, amidst their heavy schedule preparing for the Macau Grand Prix, visited the Kam Pek Community Centre and the Ponte 16 Resort, Macau yesterday to share love and warmth with the local community.
In the afternoon of 14 November, SJM Theodore Racing Team Principal Teddy Yip Jr., racing drivers Maximilian Günther and Zhou Guan Yu visited the Kam Pek Community Centre in the Inner Harbour District, and spent quality time with over 100 members of the Macau Association of the Hearing Impaired and of Macau Special Olympics at the “Hi! My Racing Heroes!” charity event.  Organised by the SJM Volunteer Team, the event aims to inspire the children with the drivers’ courage and perseverance, as well as to bring laughter to the members by playing games together.  Joining the charity activity were also Director of the SJM Volunteer Team Mr. Arnaldo Ho, President of the Executive Council of Macau Association of the Hearing Impaired Mr. Szeto Tie Fung, representative of Macau Special Olympics Ms. Mok Cheng Man and about 30 members from the SJM Volunteer Team.
At the same time, Callum Ilott and Mick Schumacher of SJM Theodore Racing visited Ponte 16 Resort, having a joyful afternoon at its latest G Racing Simulator centre with members from the volunteer teams of SJM and Ponte 16.  The activity was jointly organised by the SJM Volunteer Team and Ponte 16 Resort in recognition of the staff members’ voluntary efforts to the Macau community, including their assistance in the relief work for Typhoon Hato.  Each driver partnered with one volunteer member in this 4K G Racing simulator game, the only virtual and professional racing facility in Macau.  The member whose driver won the competition received a special SJM Theodore Racing gift set, presented by Ms. Shirley Ng, Director of the SJM Volunteer Team.  Callum Ilott and Mick Schumacher praised the volunteers for their hard work and dedication towards helping others.  They commented that the racing simulators are part of their regular practice, and they look forward to racing on the famous street circuit, Guia Circuit, in Macau.
Ms. Angela Leong, Managing Director and Chief Administrative Officer of SJM, remarked, “Macau Grand Prix is the city’s annual signature event.  SJM is delighted to team up with Theodore Racing with a view to promote motorsports, to spread joy and warmth to the disadvantaged, and to bring more positive energy into the community.”
Mr. Teddy Yip commented, “We have had a wonderful time with the members of the Association of the Hearing Impaired and of Macau Special Olympics.  I can still remember their smiling faces now and it is an honour to be able to give something back to the local community.  Our appreciation also goes to SJM and all the volunteer team members for their long-term support to society.”
