Second Place for SJM Theodore Racing in Korea

Supported by long-time partner, Macau-based integrated resorts operator SJM Resorts S.A., SJM Theodore Racing raced to second place in race one of the Inje double header in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Round Four event.

Starting from the third on the grid, Alex Denning ran comfortably in fourth for the first five laps before easing into third. He then moved onto the tail of the leaders as the pit window approached. A safety car intervention bunched the field and Denning headed to the pit lane to hand over to Macau's Charles Leong.

Leong resumed in second place at the half way point of the one hour race after the pit window reshuffle and immediately pressed the leader when racing resumed after the safety car. He moved into the lead with ten minutes to go and settled in to manage his tyres for the remaining laps.

On the final lap he found himself in a battle with the 11 car which moved ahead with a few corners to go. Nonetheless, the team further extended its lead in the points standings and maintained its record of finishing on the podium of all the races so far this season.

Charles Leong:
“We finished in second place, that’s positive for the Championship. Of course I wanted us to win, the last lap was a bit unfortunate, we were missing a lot of pace somehow so we will need to check what was happening as suddenly we were losing two seconds at the end and one second in the previous few laps and there was nowhere I could go faster.

Anything could happen tomorrow, so I will just do what I can do, do the right thing and make the right call like today. We look forward to the next race and we learn what happened and we keep improving together.”

Alex Denning:
"Disappointing to be honest, just so close but taken away. Second position, good points for the championships. We’ve extended our lead over the 27 car and it was a good performance from both myself and Charles.

I think we should take the positives from it, that we’ve extended the lead and we’re going to be looking to improve the car for race two tomorrow."

Teddy Yip Junior: “The team should be proud of a battling performance to make it seven podium visits from seven races this season.
