South Korea Beckons for Macau-powered Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia Championship Contenders SJM Iron Lynx Theodore Racing
Powered by Macau-based premier integrated tourism and leisure enterprise SJM and home-grown motorsport talent Charles Leong Hon Chio, SJM Iron Lynx Theodore Racing continues its quest for the 2024 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia championship title, this time at South Korea’s formidable3.908km Inje Speedium from 19th to 21st July.
Alongside team mate Miki Koyama, Leong and the team have taken podium finishes in all four races thus far in their debut season, starting their campaign in style in Malaysia before heading to Australia’s The Bend Motorsport Park last month. They continued their eye-catching form at the Adelaide double-header amongst the ultra-competitive international entry, despite never having race on the circuit before, and remain second on the leaderboard and within striking distance of the championship lead heading into round three.
Despite never having raced the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 before this season, both drivers have quickly mastered the agile, powerfulV10-engined race car thanks to the technical expertise of long-time Italian Lamborghini experts Iron Lynx. However, SJM Iron Lynx Theodore Racing is ready for both increased competition from its rivals as the season reaches its half-way point, as well as the unique challenges of Inje Speedium.
Set in the mountains of Gangwon State, over 120km east of Korea’s capital Seoul, the track features dramatic elevation changes and fast, sweeping straits, creating an exhilarating experience designed to reward the bravest of the brave.
Driver Quotes:
Charles Leong Hon Chio:
“Australia gave SJM Iron Lynx Theodore Racing the confidence that we can challenge for victory on an unfamiliar track, so we arrive in Korea determined to master the Inje Speedium and be competitive from the start. We have already proven our pace and consistency with four podium finishes in four races, and now it is time to take it up a level ahead of the second half of the season.”
Miki Koyama:
“I’m looking forward to reuniting with Charles and SJM Iron Lynx Theodore Racing for our next challenge in Korea. The aim will be as always for a perfect weekend – for everything to run to plan for the team. The more we race together as a team and with Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2, the stronger we become.”
