Enzo Fittipaldi & Prema Theodore Racing 3rd in the overall Championship Standings
It hasn’t been an easy weekend for PREMA Theodore Racing at Hockenheim, in the final round of the 2018 ADAC Formel 4 Championship. The team struggled to show its full potential at the German F1 venue, although the team’s two rookies cruised to some extremely promising results.
Brazilian Gianluca Petecof secured a fourth place in race 3 after putting together a great recovery from the back of the pack to P7 in the second heat of the weekend. Fellow countryman and current French F4 leader Caio Collet made his series debut and delivered equally impressive results immediately. He even posted a top-5 finish overall in race 2 which also got him a best rookie podium. In race 3 he confirmed his potential with a sixth place.
It wasn’t an easy round for the team’s two frontrunners in the championship, Enzo Fittipaldi and Olli Caldwell. The Brazilian ended up fifth in race 1 before facing some adverse fortunes in the last two heats. He finished the season third in the overall driver standings. The British racer, who was back from a triumphant weekend in the Italian championship, achieved less than expected with a 9th and a 10th place.

”Quite a challenging weekend for the whole team. From the beginning, we knew that we would have been struggling a bit all around. Apart from the contact in race 1 that caused us to retire, starting from last in race 2 we fought back to P7 and the front row starting position for race 3. I tried my best and went for the lead a few times. The best we could do was P4, the best result for the team this weekend. We ended up in the top-10 overall and in third place in the rookie championship, which after losing some point at the beginning is good. Now we look forward to the final race of the Italian championship at Mugello.”

“This was a very bad weekend for me. I definitely did not get the results I wanted. Now my only focus is on preparing for Mugello and competing for more wins.”

”This weekend wasn’t really what I wanted. Qualifying was okay after struggling in the practice sessions. We have been fighting for second place in the championship for the whole weekend and it was a good fight. Unfortunately, in the final race, I was taken out. That was a bit unfortunate but we still ended the championship in third place. I’m not really satisfied, but it still was a positive year. I am still growing up as a driver and we did a great work with the team this season. We made a good step forward compared to last year. Now I’m looking forward to fighting for the championship title in the Italian championship. Let’s do our best there.”
