Mick Schumacher grabs top-5 finish in race 3

The sixth round of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship at Silverstone ended with a fifth place in race 3 for PREMA Theodore Racing. Starting relatively down the order, the team’s drivers didn’t have much room for recovery as passing proved to be tricky. In the end, Mick Schumacher provided the team with another extremely solid run, rounding out the top-5 in convincing fashion.

Not too far away from him, Chinese racer Guanyu Zhou scored a valuable points finish in P8, while fellow FDA-supported racer Robert Shwartzman posted a top-10 finish. On the other hand, Marcus Armstrong and Ralf Aron were quickly put out of contention due to contacts.

Guanyu Zhou, Car #1

“The start was good, even though I lost a couple of spots at the first corner, I regained them in the opening lap. Then I managed to overtake Ticktum too, but he then passed me by going completely off the track. Not quite fair. After that, the race became pretty boring. I was just trying to save my tires. We had pace in qualifying we struggled a bit in the races. At least we scored good points after the disaster at Spa.”

“It is nice to get another solid finish to wrap-up the weekend after yesterday’s win. We have great potential and we did well in battles too. I look forward to keeping this momentum in the final part of the season.”

Ralf Aron, Car #7

“It has been a difficult weekend and race 3 again did not favor us as we were put out of contention by a contact. Now we turn the page and head towards Misano”

Marcus Armstrong, Car #8

“Obviously it was a very short race to end a tricky weekend. We look forward to Misano where I have a good experience. We look forward to battling at the front there.”

Robert Shwartzman, Car #10

“For sure it was a tricky weekend. We ended up again in the top-10 but we struggled a bit especially while in the slipstream of other drivers. It was very difficult to overtake without the other making a mistake. We need to improve to be back at the front in Misano.”
