Mick Schumacher wins all races at Nurburgring! Robert Shwartzman joins him in second position
It was nothing less than a perfect weekend for PREMA Theodore Racing at Nürburgring. In the final day of action for the FIA Formula 3 European Championship at the world-famous German circuit, Mick Schumacher turned into a true home hero. After winning race 1 yesterday, the19-year-old racer dominated race 2 and 3 from the pole to complete a sensational sweep. He is now just 3 points away from the championship lead.
Robert Shwartzman secured his third second-place finish of the weekend, thus improving his championship position and consolidating his lead in the rookie standings with three class wins. Fellow Ferrari Driver Academy racer Marcus Armstrong secured a fourth and a fifth place. Following the New Zealander in Race 2 was Estonian Ralf Aron, who then secured another points finish at the end of Race 3. Two more points finishes came from Guanyu Zhou. Also an FDA graduate, the Chinese driver ended up in P8 and P10 respectively. It is worth noticing that all PREMA Theodore Racing cars scored points in all three races this weekend.

“It definitely was a difficult weekend, once again we ended up in the points in both races on Sunday, but there is something that isn’t right. We will bounce back at Red Bull Ring.”

I had good starts and restarts and every time I managed to pull away from Robert, which was important. I can’t wait to be back on track for the next round at Red Bull Ring!”

“Overall it has been a tough weekend for me. We faced similar issues to what we had in Budapest and Silverstone but while back then we almost ended up with zero points, this time we brought back 24 points which is still better than nothing. We keep on pushing, hopefully we will figure something out for Red Bull Ring.”

“The car was better today compared to yesterday and I felt good. In the final race, our start was very good but we were forced into going to the outside because we had so much momentum. If I maybe had a worse start, I would have been better off in the first few corners. Not an ideal weekend, but life goes on and there are six races to go with lots of potential.”

“My weekend was very good, better than I had expected. The team had already worked hard in preparation to ensure we have a fast car here. Compared to Mick, I was still lacking something, so he really deserved the three wins. In Race 2, I had some problems with tyre degradation that allowed Daniel to close up, while in Race 3 I had to keep Alex at bay which is never easy with his experience. I am glad that I have managed to stay in front both times.”
